With immense pride, Badminton Canada is excited to share that Brian Yang won an unprecedented silver medal for Canada in the Indonesia Master's 2024. With his determination and remarkable skills, Brian played against Danish player Anders Antonsen in a thrilling match that kept the audience on the edge of their seats. The audience witnessed a display of exceptional talent from both sides.
In the semi-finals, Brian won against hometown favourite Ginting in a thrilling match 13-21, 21-17, and 21-19. In the previous match, The Canadian Senior National Team member beat World #3 Li Shi Feng of China. The Canadian also won a match against Lee Zii Jia in the Quarterfinals, the Malaysian player who retired in the Quarterfinals. In round 32, Brian beat Indian player Priyanshu Rajawat. It brought him to the finals, where he won the first game against Antonsen but fell just short in the following two games, ultimately losing him the match but bringing him the silver medal — a first in Canadian history in any Super 500 for Men's Singles.
