A week to acknowledge coaches' positive influence on and off the court

Celebrate with #ThanksCoach on your social media!

Badminton Canada is proud to join the celebration of National Coaching Week, taking place from September 16-22. This week highlights coaches' essential role in shaping athletes, fostering community engagement, and driving success in badminton at all levels, from grassroots programs to elite international competitions.

National Coaching Week is a time to recognize and appreciate the dedication, knowledge, and passion that badminton coaches bring to the sport across Canada. As mentors, educators, and role models, coaches teach technical skills and inspire personal growth, resilience, and teamwork.

Badminton National Coaches

Frank Gaudet, Para National Head Coach, and Mike Butler, ChPC, National Head Coach, are Team Canada Badminton Coaches whose contributions to Canada are invaluable. National Coaching Week allows us to celebrate and recognize their critical role in shaping the future of Canadian badminton.

“Badminton Canada recognizes the importance of the coach on the sport journey for athletes. Coaches are guides, supporters, technical experts and advisors to help athletes navigate the challenges faced on and off the court. Badminton Canada offers a deep and well-deserved “thank you” to badminton coaches from coast to coast working on building up athletes to compete, have fun and live a life full of this great sport.” said Bryan Merrett, Director Executive of Badminton Canada.

NCCP Coach Program

The National Coaching Certification Program is realized in partnership with the government of Canada, provincial/territorial governments, and national/provincial/territorial sports organizations to give coaches the confidence to succeed. Badminton Canada offers the following NCCP workshops: Community Sport Coach and Competition Coach. Learn more about here

Get Involved
